About me
Shoot the Moon Music is a professional music production company founded and led by Dutch musician Tjeerd van Zanen, specializing in international songwriting (under the STM Music banner) and record production (STM Records).
Tjeerd van Zanen is a seasoned Dutch guitarist, songwriter, engineer, and producer with over 45 years of expertise in the music industry. Renowned for crafting compelling songs for both Dutch and international artists—including multiple entries for the Eurovision Songfestival—he blends rock, fusion, and pop influences to create timeless tracks.
His career highlights include co-founding the acclaimed fusion band Back To Basic, whose 1993 debut album Give All U Got earned rave US reviews and a Dutch Top 40 hit with “Leave Me Alone”; contributing to the innovative jazz-pop outfit Ugly White Belly; and serving as program director for the iconic Vrienden van Amstel Live concert series (2000–2007). As a sought-after collaborator, Tjeerd has performed and recorded with established acts worldwide, while also sharing his craft as a songwriting and production instructor at Codarts Rotterdam and ArtEZ Enschede. Whether elevating your project through custom compositions or production polish, Tjeerd delivers professional results that resonate.
